What our customers think…
Chris helped execute a Valentine’s Day proposal and chauffeur us around Dunedin and its surrounds on a tour before taking us to the airfield to hop on a Highland Helicopters private Heli charter to propose to my girlfriend.
Chris was full of local knowledge, welcoming and considerate. He made our day that extra bit special and nothing was too much trouble. Couldn’t have chosen a better Tour Guide that day!
Thanks heaps Chris – Hope to see you next time we come back to NZ!

“jet boat and nice drive thru dunedin”
We took this tour in Jan 2014 on the advice of Mark at Awesome tours (his tour was totally booked), Freedom is new in the tour business, but Glenda took us for a long day of jet boating and touring Dunedin….would recommend them to anyone interested in seeing and learning about Dunedin in a a small van rather than the large tour busses… (Glenda picked us up at the cruise dock and dropped us off in time for our departure). Good luck to you Glenda and Freedom tours!...Rick and Kathy Klaus

“penguins and albatross birds!”
We were happy with freedom tours right from the start! Our guide was waiting for us as we got off the cruise ship and as we got into our van, handed us each cold water to get us off on the right foot! Our guide toured us around Dunedin hitting some of the highlights including taking us to a local bakery so we could pick up our lunch and get drinks for our all day tour. We toured the penguin place where we were able to see yellow-eyed penguins up close and there was a good education component to the tour that we liked. It was on to the royal albatross colony where we saw these magnificent birds fly by! Another well-run facility. A great day, my only regret is we didn't have time to spend in downtown Dunedin! I would recommend chris and freedom tours. They were easy to work with in advance and didn't disappoint us. We would use them again!

Why we do it…
Chris and Glenda were inspired to start Freedom Tours after many trips to visit different parts of the world. After making many new friends who were then to visit New Zealand, we thoroughly enjoyed showing our guests around our beautiful city and region, and decided that we wanted to continue to share the experiences and our local knowledge with the many international travellers increasingly arriving in Dunedin.
Dunedin is now one of the busiest cruise ship ports in New Zealand, which is remarkable for a relatively small city. We take great pride in the continued increase in passenger numbers (twice the population of Dunedin!) over the summer cruise season, and we strive to continually improve our tours and the services that we offer.
