The world famous Catlins are a great day trip from Dunedin along the south east coast of the South Island.

We start our trip heading south through Brighton to the fishing village of Taieri Mouth, before heading over the hill to Lake Waihola. After passing through the towns of Milton and Balclutha, we veer back towards the coast for our first stop.

The beautiful walk up to the Nugget Point Lighthouse gives breathtaking views over the Pacific Ocean, and the appropriately named Nuggets just off the mainland. A short trek down to a hide on the beach may also give us views of penguins coming ashore after fishing during the day.

After a quick lunch (additional cost) at Kaka Point, we carry on our drive to Cannibal and Surat Bays with their beautiful beaches, before our final stop at Purakanui Falls. The glorious walk through the forest track takes us to the famous waterfall - yet another great photo opportunity!

We finish our journey by heading back to Dunedin where we'll drop you back at the Cruise Ship terminal, or back in the central city where you can continue to explore the city on your own.
